May Memories

Tucker had so much fun in his preschool this year, we were so sad to see it end. They had a great field trip to farm country.

Tucker loves to make silly faces.

It was a big thing for Halle to ride on the pony. Normally she is too scared, but after some convincing she rode it for the first time.

One day we decided to take Frontrunner up to Salt Lake and go to the children's Discovery museum. The kids had a great time riding the train and as always they had a fun time running around the museum.

They had a new exhibit at the museum that was basically giant tinker toys. Sheldon is great at coming up with creative games and we ended up bowling with the giant foam things. It was great fun.

After having a chocolate covered marshmallow from Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory, we decided to make our own and they turned out so delicious. The kids did great at dipping them, but they really wanted to eat them more than dip them.

We found Halle asleep on the couch one morning. I think she must have gotten up around 5 and not wanting to wake anyone up just read books until she fell asleep again.

We went on a hike up American Fork Canyon. We never made it to what we were trying to find, but we had a great time hiking. Sheldon towards the end usually ends up carrying Tucker and Halle. I'm lucky I just get to carry Finn.

We bought passes called the Salt Lake Connect Pass that have been getting us into lots of fun things in Salt Lake. One was the Red Butte Gardens, that were actually really cool and I would recommend them to anyone. I wasn't expecting much, but was so impressed. They had great kids areas, but also giant medicinal and herb gardens. It felt like we were exploring a forest instead of planned gardens.

We made it to the annual Olsen Memorial Day Picnic for family on my Dad's side. It was perfect weather for once, normally it rains.

After the picnic it was windy enough to do some kite flying! We love flying our power kite and I know you are probably a little skeptical, kite flying really isn't that exciting. But the power kite can actually pull you off the ground and can be dangerous if you are not careful. When we were flying this time I forgot to have the emergency brake attached to my wrist. Normally you can let go and the emergency brake will collapse the kite. Since I forgot to attach the emergency brake the kite just kept going when I let go and the handlebars knocked my sister over! Luckily she was ok, but it was a good reminder to be careful.

Halle wanted to wear her clothes over her pajamas one night when going to bed. I think we convinced her to take them off, but she loves to pick out her clothes and get dressed.

Rachel's Graduation

Ages in ago in April my parents came up for my sister's graduation. It's so hard to believe that she is done with school and graduating, I can't be this old! She still hard to finish up her internship this summer, so she is not really graduated until August. She graduated with a major in Recreation Management and a minor in business. I just hope she is able to find a job in this area, because we would be so sad if she had to move away.

Tucker did a great job capturing some pictures with his camera.

Graduation was pretty long, luckily we got some awesome padded seats and Tucker fell asleep by the end of it.

It was a little bit breezy outside and Tucker's not the happiest when he wakes up from naps, so he wasn't really in the mood to be taking pictures.

Halle loves flowers and she thought Rachel's flowers were just for her. She was happy to carry them around and smell them.

Tucker and Halle spent most of their time climbing up and down the railing. I don't know when my kids became the crazy kids who climb on everything, but they have definitely reached that point. I think it's because Tuck and Halle tend to feed off each other and the craziness intensifies. When they are separated, they are so much easier to take care, but they also have a lot of fun together. I guess I should be grateful that they have so much fun together, even though it is so chaotic.

I like Halle's stick in front of my face in this picture.

While my parents were visiting we made it over to the Gardens to see the Tulip Festival at Thanksgiving Point. They have an awesome spider web climbing thing that is so tall and Halle is fearless and climbs all the way to the top.

My stylin' little girl wearing her Daddy's sunglasses.

While my parents were in town we had Finn's baby blessing. Sheldon's parents and his sister's family made it to the blessing and my mom and all her siblings were able to come. It was so great to have so much family together for the blessing!

A funny family picture, but the only one we have had taken in a while.
