January 2011

January has been a pretty slow month, so there hasn't really been anything too exciting to post.

Potty Training Update: I'll spare you the details, but Tucker is doing pretty good. He still has good days and bad days, but after only 2 weeks I feel like he's made a lot of progress and I just remind myself how much bling I am saving by not using diapers.

Baby Girl: Still hanging out. Tucker and I are taking lots of long walks hoping gravity will pull this baby out soon. Still no name chosen, we are hoping for some divine inspiration when we see her for the first time.

Misc. pictures from January

I did my hair while Tucker was eating lunch one day and when I went to check on him he had fallen asleep. So cute, it's a good thing he didn't face plant in his food!

Tucker finally loves posing for pictures and saying 'Cheese!' He then loves looking at the picture you have just taken. He specifically wanted to take some pictures by the magnets on our fridge.

While we were in California we were able to take a few family pictures. I haven't seen all of them, but I think they turned out pretty cute. Don't you just love California and the fact that you can take pictures outside in December without freezing in the snow!

Christmas 2010

Christmas was awesome this year as we got to spend it in sunny California, although to be honest it rained quite a bit. It was still way better than freezing cold Utah. We made it to California on Christmas Eve after splitting the drive up into 2 days. Tucker loved helping everyone open their presents. My favorite part was after Tucker had opened a box or two of clothes, he would say, "clothes," in this disgusted voice and quickly move onto the next present. He is a true boy, not interested in clothes at all.

He has started to say "Cheese" when we take pictures of him and he makes a pretty funny face.

We had lots of fun getting together with all the family that was there for my cousin's wedding. Of course, many fun games were played.

We made an awesome gingerbread house, but somehow I forgot to take a picture of the finished project.

Sheldon and I brought down some funny little Christmas games to play, we called it the Christmas Olympics. My favorite was this one where you had to tear a Christmas Tree out of a piece a paper behind your back, without looking. Most of ours were barely in the shape of a tree and then Sheldon pulls his out, and it was this completely perfect tree. Somehow Sheldon is just amazing like that.

Blowing up plastic bubbles, very fun if you have never tried it before. Tucker and his serious 'Cheese' face.

Lots of good food and fun at the different wedding events. Sheldon is holding my cousin's little girl, I love her face in this picture. Apparently she is not a big fan of Sheldon.

Happy New Year!

We had too much fun just enjoying the great weather and spending time with family. It was so hard to come back. Now we are just counting down to the arrival of Baby Girl, only 4 more weeks!

what we've been up to...

This is what we've been up to this past week, potty training! Tucker loves to sit on his potty and read books. Hopefully sometime soon I can go back and post about all the Christmas fun we had. Progress is being made with the potty training, so we are going to stick with it. I really do not want to have 2 kids in diapers. I am also thinking about doing cloth diapers with our next baby, am I totally crazy? I just feel like we would save so much money. I am sure we have spent at least $1000.00 on diapers for Tucker. So much money that literally just goes in the garbage.

I am so open to any tips on potty training. I'm just letting Tucker run around naked, because he thinks underwear is a diaper. He will go on the potty without any problems if he is not wearing underwear, but as soon I put underwear on him he will pee his pants. So my strategy is to get used to going on the potty and then we will introduce underwear once he is used to it. Slightly crazy, but it seems to be working so far!
