"I have a big head and little arms"

Tucker went to the doctor this week and had his checkup. He will be 10 months old next week, crazy huh? Here are his stats:
Head: 18.5 in 85.5%
Weight: 18.8 lbs 14.8%
Height: 29.5 in 76.8%
Yay for big heads! He is so smart ;) It was a nice checkup because there were no shots this time. I'm so glad Tucker doesn't have any stranger anxiety yet. The doctor picked him up after the whole checkup thinking Tucker would scream, but Tucker just played with him. I hope Tucker never gets stranger anxiety, because I love my child, but I also love it when I can leave him with a sitter.
Tucker and I are headed to Cali on Sunday! We are so excited, the only thing that would make it better was if Sheldon could come with us, but he has to work unfortunately. Here is a funny video of Tucker trying to walk.

wet 'n wild

We have had so much fun this past week playing at the pool. Last Saturday we went to the Provo pool which has a few water slides you can take your kids on. Unfortunately, it wasn't the warmest day ever so Tucker wasn't a big fan of the water at first. He is used to his very warm baths at home. I don't know what is up with the weather in Utah this year, but I think we have had only one day so far that has gotten above 80. I can't wait for some hot weather!
Tucker sharing his snacks with Dad.

After Sheldon took him on one of the big waterslides, he was not a happy kid. We may have to wait until he is a little older or it is a really hot day so the water feels good to take him on the slides again. He was kind of angry at Sheldon after he took him on the slides, I think that is the first time Tucker stayed angry at something and wouldn't go to Sheldon after that.

Towards the end of the day he had fun walking in the water and I'm sure he will have more fun next time when it is warmer.

Yesterday, we decided to try out the Legacy Pool in Lehi which we heard had very warm water and it did not disappoint! The water was heated to 91 degrees and it was indoor so there was no cold breeze blowing. It was a really nice pool, it's indoor so it is open all year long, but it also has a section where the roof can slide back on nice days. Once Tucker got used to all the noisy, screaming kids he had a lot of fun splashing in the water as you can tell.

We were so glad Sheldon's sister Dahlia and her litle boy Claytin were able to come with us. Claytin was pretty good while he was there, but he is still a little young to really enjoy it.

Last, but not least, I'm so glad we finally got a picture of one my favorite faces that Tucker makes. He gets all squinty and smiles, I love it! He is starting to make this face a lot, sometimes he makes it when he is angry and squints at us. Other times he is really happy and squeezes his eyes shut all the way and then smiles.

Birthday!

I had such a great birthday this past weekend. I think it would definitely make the list of greatest birthdays ever. Thanks to everyone for the birthday wishes and to those who helped make it such a great weekend!

Tucker gave me some cute presents for my birthday, he gave me a card that Sheldon helped him sign his name, but Tucker crinkled the card up all by himself. Being a kid, Tucker gave me some presents that he really wanted for himself. He gave me bubbles and we have had lots of fun blowing bubbles outside.

Sheldon took me to a place called Jump On It that has tons of trampolines. We had a lot of fun racing and of course Sheldon was so good at doing his crazy flips.

We also got to go shopping at the outlets in Park City, Tucker had fun sitting in the chairs at Gymboree. I almost bought him this cute hat, but Sheldon said he wouldn't leave it on. I think he looks so cute in hats, I need a hat with a strap on it or something.

On Sunday we went up to visit Sheldon's parents and we had lots of fun playing with our nephews and niece.

I was so excited to get to hold our new niece Samantha, she is such a cutie. It's funny to me how different boys and girls are even as babies. Sammy is so different from her older brother Andrew, she is very petite and more calm than Andrew

Many thanks to Grandma Mills for such a great dinner and hosting at her house. Tucker misses being able to play with you!

O Zion!

Sheldon did such a great job on my birthday post that I haven't wanted to post because how can I follow something as cute and funny as that? I told Sheldon he could keep on blogging, but it looks like you will only see him on our blog for special occasions.

Over Memorial Day weekend we went camping with my family to Zion National Park. I know I am a little behind, but I always get overwhelmed when I take a bunch of pictures, how to narrow them and condense our experiences so you guys don't fall asleep reading super long posts. Anyway, it was real camping in tents and Tucker did pretty good on his first camping trip. Tucker had been sick and so he had a hard time the first night, but after that he slept pretty well and did great sitting in his backpack on the hikes. Here are some highlights from the trip:

Tucker spent a LOT of time on everyone's shoulders because he is so happy up there. He just loves to bounce along and doesn't hang on to anything.

Tucker loved reading books with Grandma.
We hiked up the bottom of the Narrows a little bit, I can definitely see why people wear wetsuits when they hike the Narrows. That water was so cold!
My sister and my cousin Lauren on the buses that you have to ride everywhere. I felt like we spent so much time riding the buses around.
Wearing his Daddy's Indiana Jones hat, so cute!
Practicing walking with Grandad. I can't wait til he starts walking on his own, even though I know it will be hard to baby proof things, I think Tucker will be so much happier.

We hiked to a place called Weeping Rock, where tons of water just drips right out of the rock. This is the view.

This is on the way to Hidden Canyon, it had some pretty big dropoffs. Hence, the chains in the picture.
We had a hard time stopping Tucker from eating the rocks. We even set him on a pad, but babies can always reach farther than you think. I don't think he swallowed any, at least not while I was looking.
Tucker wanted to be a climber,
Just like his Uncle Terrell.
Tucker even got a bath while camping, thanks to our awesome solar-heated shower.
We found this great little canyon underneath a bridge we stopped at.
It was fun to mess around it and we found some cool places to repel down into it. Our next trip we will have to go back there and explore further. It was such a fun trip, even though having Tucker made camping a lot more work. I think next time camping will be easier though, because now Tucker is used to it. That's what I'm hoping for at least!
