Moved In!

We are officially moved into our house, but we still have a lot of unpacking to do. Slowly, but surely we are settling in. We are loving all the space and there are so many kids Tucker's age for him to play with. I think there are 3 or 4 other kids just in our apartment building his age. It has been great fun to go out to the park and meet new people. Mother's day was great this year because Tucker actually went up and sang with the primary. He was such a big boy, he went up there all by himself and I could see him singing a few words. When he came back and sat down he told me he "sang all the end words." Meaning the last word of every sentence.

The only bad thing about our new place is how easy it is for Tucker to get the front door open. The dead bolt is very low and easy for him to turn. Yesterday morning I finished getting ready and realized the house was very quiet. Tucker and Halle had gone outside and walked all the way downstairs to the playground all by themselves. Then, that same day, Sheldon and I were just talking a little bit when our doorbell rang. The neighbor across the hallway had caught them sneaking out of our house. Tucker told her, "We're escaping!" We are definitely going to have to do something about the front door.

There is a lot of playing in and climbing on boxes happening at our house. We have a lot of stuff to pack up, but of course it's been nice to clean out and have a fresh start.

All grown up

Halle is such an independent little girl. This morning I found her feeding herself some applesauce. She had grabbed Tucker's bowl off the table and was getting the last little bit out and doing a pretty good job with it too.

We have some big exciting news at our house... we are moving in a week and a half! We are so excited to be moving to a bigger apartment with real windows and three bedrooms! We are moving to Lehi, which shortens Sheldon's commute to work considerably. It's crazy to think that we have lived in this little apartment for almost 4 years. We are a little nervous for this big change and of course sad to leave this place behind, it's the only place Tucker has ever lived. But it's time for a change. I just hope we can get everything packed up and moved. We have acquired a lot of stuff since we moved here.

A girl's gotta have her chocolate

I gave Halle a piece of chocolate this week thinking she would just pop it in her mouth and eat it. But somehow when I wasn't looking it ended up everywhere but her mouth. When I saw her a minute later it was all over her face and hands, which of course means it is spread over furniture too. I think it must have melted in her hand before it made it to her mouth. She's just like her daddy, likes to eat things slowly and save the best for last. I am definitely a dessert first kind of person.

Easter Egg Hunt 2012

We had a great Easter with Sheldon's parents. The weather was so perfect! Tucker and Halle had little colds, so they weren't feeling their best but we still had fun. Tucker was so excited for the easter egg hunt, he had been looking forward to it for the whole week. 

Getting ready for the hunt! Halle was very distracted by the grass in her basket. We found a cute new dress for Halle on Easter, but unfortunately Kohl's had hardly any toddler boy clothes. Don't worry, they had like 2 walls full of dresses for little girls, but no clothes for little boys. Sometimes it so hard to find cute boy clothes. We didn't have time to go to another store, so he just had to wear some clothes he already had for easter. He still looked cute except for his sore red nose.

Halle was pretty funny when she would find an egg, she would get really excited and just point to it for a long time. 

Tucker and Claytin were of course pros at finding the eggs. Their baskets got so full that eggs would fall out and Halle would follow after picking up the fallen ones.

Halle's first peep! She slowly shoved it and devoured every bite. We gave her a second one but I think she thought it was a little too sugary because she didn't finish it.

Happy Easter

I can't believe it has been a month since I last posted and March has come and gone. I honestly don't know what I did the month of March. Halle had her one year checkup but I threw away the stats sometime, but she was about 18 and a half pounds and the 20th percentile and her head was at the 80th percentile. So she has continued the trend of having a very big head on a little body. Sheldon calls her our little doll, because of course she has a big head and a little body. She's not much of a talker yet, but I know she can she just chooses not to, which goes along with her stubborn and independent personality. Every once in a while she will say a word very clearly. She is really just content pointing and grunting for things she wants. 

And did you know Sheldon just had a big birthday that i didn't even do a cool post for?! Happy Birthday Sheldon!! For his birthday I got him an awesome Blendtec Blender. If you need some healthy green spinach smoothies you are welcome at our house anytime. My parents came up for Conference Weekend and we had some fun times enjoying spring weather.

This week we had a windy day and decided to pull out our old kite, while not the nicest kite we got it up in the air with a homemade tail. Tucker had a lot of fun flying it and Halle loved watching it up in the air.

This last picture just makes me laugh because she fell over but just laid there for a while. I guess she was pretty tired after playing at the park.

With Easter on my mind I just read this really good article in the Ensign, The Atonement and the Journey of Mortality. I highly recommend it and one quote from it, "The enabling power of the Atonement strengthens us to do good and to serve beyond our own individual desire and natural capacity." I sometimes feel like a broken record and make the same mistakes over and over again, but I just forget that I need to rely on the atonement to overcome my weaknesses. I hope everyone has a Happy Easter and remembers the real reason for the holiday!
