Tucker's 3rd Birthday

It's so hard to believe Tucker is 3! It is amazing what a little person he has become, he is definitely coming out of the toddler stage and becoming a preschooler. He is now quick to tell me if I start doing something wrong, for example today he told me, "No, mama, No. Don't be angry. No, mama." He loves to pretend play and I love to hear what things he comes up with. He frequently pretends to go to Disneyland or Lake Tahoe (gets that one from Avery) and his cars he pretends are people.

We had his first friend birthday party this year. I kept it really small and simple, but I thought it was really fun for Tucker and his friends. We just blew up the kiddie pool and let the kids play in the water and then have snacks.

I made Turtle cupcakes because Tucker loves Squirt the turtle from Finding Nemo.

They were really easy, but I thought they turned out cute.

Balloons, for decorations and they doubled as party favors. Everyone took a balloon home with them.

Lots of pics of the kids playing in the pool. Tucker started running and then diving into the pool, we may have to get him a slip 'n slide next summer.

There was also some time spent doing laps running around the deck.

Halle being her happy self.

What a cute birthday boy!

Cupcakes! Of course Tucker always eats the frosting first and then doesn't love the cake part as much.

We opened presents later that night with Sheldon's family. Tucker loved the treats he got and his very own soccer ball.

It was a very smart idea to put candles on cupcakes, because Tucker tends to spit quite a bit when he blows :)
It was such a fun day, thanks to everyone who came and celebrated with us!

Garbage Bag Giggles

Of course we are just loving Halle's laugh. She has the greatest laugh just like Tucker. Here are two of our favorite laughing videos.

I don't know if I have posted this video of Tucker on the blog before, but Halle laughing reminded me of it. It's one of my favorites. The random things that make kids laugh!

Survived!

We have officially survived the first 2 weeks! I definitely see that as an accomplishment, but I feel like it should have already been a month at least. Tucker was super sick a week and a half ago, probably the sickest he has ever been in his life, poor little guy. The Dr. was worried he had pnuemonia and he had to get x-rays and tests done, but luckily it turned out to just be nasty cold/cough/fever all put together. He is finally healthy again and it is relief! Halle is doing great, she had her 2 week appt. on Monday and is definitely gaining weight. She already has a little double chin. Her stats:
Weight: 7.9 lbs 35%
Length: 20.5 in 53%
Head: 14.3 in 53%
I'm getting used to always being slightly tired and Tucker is adjusting to having Halle around. He likes to drive cars on her stomach and is always happy to share his bear and monkey with her. He sometimes says, "Mama, put Halle down!" when he wants something, but in general he doesn't seem to mind having her around. We had my mom here for about a week and half, which was a big help and we were very sad to see her go. Sheldon also had a week off of work, which was too much fun. The first day Sheldon had to go back to work, Tucker saw him getting dressed up for work and realized where he was going. He started screaming, "Pants off, pants off!" Here are some random pictures from the past 2 weeks.

I never thought of Tucker as big, but now next to Halle he just seems huge!

Who needs a double stroller? Tucker can just hold Halle on his lap ;)

A picture of Tucker when he was sick. He would lay on Sheldon and watch TV while Sheldon would read.

Halle in her old man pants, because they are too big they come up really high on her.

A Tucker Moment

This picture is from about a week ago when Tucker got a little black eye (If you look closely please excuse the little booger in the picture, I promise I wipe his nose!) Tucker doesn't get too many bumps and bruises because he is pretty cautious, but he sure does look cute whenever he gets them!
Saturday night Sheldon and I babysat Avery for a few hours. We keep our cat food on a bench in our kitchen, so the kids can reach it. Tucker knows that he is not supposed to play with the cat food and he is pretty obedient. Whenever Avery comes down to play one of the first things she will do is eat the cat food. So gross, I don't know why she does it. She is the pickiest eater, but for some reason she does not have a problem with dirt, grass, or cat food. So on Saturday we were cleaning up after dinner and while I wasn't watching her, Avery got into the cat food. Tucker comes running over to me saying, "No, no, no," and pulls on my pant leg. He ran over to Avery, pointed at her, and said, "No, no, no," again. He was totally tattle telling on Avery! It totally happened again, because I didn't put the cat food away thinking Avery would listen to me and leave it alone. Of course she got into it again and Tucker ran to find me in the living room saying, "no, no, no" So not only does Tucker understand he is not supposed to play with certain things, but that means nobody else can either! Such a smart and funny kid!

On another topic, I am revamping the blog. So for all you people who use google reader, go to the site and let me know what you think. It's a work in progress, but so far I like what I have done! And my good news for the day, Sheldon gets President's Day off! Hooray! Does anyone have any fun plans for Valentine's Day weekend?
