Vegas!

About two weeks ago we went to Vegas for my cousin's wedding reception. Even though it was a really short trip (we drove down Friday night and came back Sunday afternoon) it was so much fun. I didn't get very many good pictures, not even one of the bride and groom, but it was because I was too busy catching up with people I don't get to see very often. It was fun to see my parents and they, of course, had a lot of fun chasing Tucker around and spoiling him.

Tucker's Busy Week

It's been a busy week for Tucker. He has been practicing his Cheesy Grin.

Reading lots of books while practicing his cheesy smile.

Wearing Mom's girly hat while running with Mom and Dad because his head has gotten too big for all of his hats.

Trying to be just like Dad in every single way, including wearing his shirts and trying to go to work with him.

And of course, sleeping in the weirdest positions possible.

Chocolate

Sheldon sometimes forgets that Tucker can open cupboards in our house and get into everything that is at his level. It's usually not a big deal because there is nothing in those cupboards that I mind him playing with. Sheldon put some chocolate in the cupboard on Saturday when we were cleaning the house and Tucker quickly found it and was able to open it. He was having a lot of fun when we found him in the kitchen (whenever it is too quite that is when you know to check on him). I watched him stick a whole square of chocolate in and then he would just let it melt in his mouth. He definitely takes after his parents, we love almost anything chocolate!

Tucker is just starting to become so funny, because he always wants to copy whatever we do. The other day he picked up a comb and started to try to comb his hair. Here he is trying to learn how to jump, he's definitely got a ways though before he figures it out.

Symantec 5K Run

Sheldon's work had a FREE 5k last Saturday, and Sheldon and I are all about anything free so of course we signed up. We haven't done a race together yet because it always seems like a lot of money, but this one convinced me that we will have to sign up for a longer one. It was so much fun to be a part of a race, my competitive side also came out in me and now I want to train harder so I can be faster. I actually did get 3rd in my age division, but I think there was only 4 or 5 people total in my division, so it's not saying much. Sheldon got 2nd in his division, but once again, I think most of the people who work at Symantec are in their 30s or 40s. Tucker had fun hanging out in the jogger stroller as always. It was nice having Sheldon push the stroller, usually I go running without Sheldon so I have to push the stroller, and man those thing are heavy. Tucker is around 20 lbs, plus the weight of the stroller, and that's around 40lbs total, yikes!

Utah State Fair

Sheldon and Tucker went to the Utah State Fair with the Mills side of the family last Saturday. They had lots of fun petting the animals and looking at all the cool stores. I think Sheldon's favorite event was the hypnotist show. Here are a few of the pictures from their day.

I love this last picture, he had fallen asleep in the stroller and was so tired that he stayed asleep even after Sheldon picked him up. It's hard to see in this picture, but if you look closely at his hand his fingers got pretty scraped up. He took quite a little tumble at the fair and bruised his head as well. His fingers look like they are getting a little infected because it is so hard to keep band-aids on kids. I'm trying my best to keep his fingers clean and I put neosporin on throughout the day. If anyone has any good tips on getting band-aids to stay on, or maybe I just need stickier band-aids!

Walkin' and Talkin'

Tucker is learning so many new things lately, he is an excellent walker now and can stand up on his own. He is also getting so good at talking. When we ask what his name is he says, "Tugga." He can also say cheese and sometimes a version of "Love you." My favorite trick he does lately is when we ask him to bend down he will do a little squat and he will also stomp his feet if you tell him to. This video is a good example of all the things he is saying lately. I'll have to get a video of him bending down because it is so funny, he usually grunts while he is doing it.
