Happy Easter

I can't believe it has been a month since I last posted and March has come and gone. I honestly don't know what I did the month of March. Halle had her one year checkup but I threw away the stats sometime, but she was about 18 and a half pounds and the 20th percentile and her head was at the 80th percentile. So she has continued the trend of having a very big head on a little body. Sheldon calls her our little doll, because of course she has a big head and a little body. She's not much of a talker yet, but I know she can she just chooses not to, which goes along with her stubborn and independent personality. Every once in a while she will say a word very clearly. She is really just content pointing and grunting for things she wants. 

And did you know Sheldon just had a big birthday that i didn't even do a cool post for?! Happy Birthday Sheldon!! For his birthday I got him an awesome Blendtec Blender. If you need some healthy green spinach smoothies you are welcome at our house anytime. My parents came up for Conference Weekend and we had some fun times enjoying spring weather.

This week we had a windy day and decided to pull out our old kite, while not the nicest kite we got it up in the air with a homemade tail. Tucker had a lot of fun flying it and Halle loved watching it up in the air.

This last picture just makes me laugh because she fell over but just laid there for a while. I guess she was pretty tired after playing at the park.

With Easter on my mind I just read this really good article in the Ensign, The Atonement and the Journey of Mortality. I highly recommend it and one quote from it, "The enabling power of the Atonement strengthens us to do good and to serve beyond our own individual desire and natural capacity." I sometimes feel like a broken record and make the same mistakes over and over again, but I just forget that I need to rely on the atonement to overcome my weaknesses. I hope everyone has a Happy Easter and remembers the real reason for the holiday!

This is a pretty funny video of Halle peeking around the door. Just ignore our big pile of laundry that needs to be folded in the background. This video just seems to show of Halle's cute, quirky personality.

Chuck-e-Cheese!

Chuck-e-cheese is of course kid heaven, and we had fun taking Tucker and Halle there this month. It's funny to watch Tucker because there is so much going on he just runs from one thing to the next kind of like a crazy person. My favorite picture is this one of Halle and Tucker, she did not like the moving cars.

Another fun thing we did in February was check out the Discovery museum at the Gateway mall in Salt Lake. We had never been there before, but we had a buy 1 get 1 free so we decided to check it out. Normally I don't think I would pay full price for this place. It is $8.50 for everyone over the age of one, which is a little expensive in my book for little kids. Anyway, it was a really cute place with lots of fun things for the kids to pretend play with. Halle loved the slides and scooting around on the scooter.

Tucker was so cute with his grocery cart. He filled it all the way up and then checked out at the check out stand. This little girl was really nice to help him check out because his cart was completely full and so it took him a long time to put every single piece of food on the counter to buy.

Flying all over in February!

February ended up being a really busy month because we took some last minute trips. Sheldon does a lot of work with the Utah chapter of the American Marketing Association (AMA). They decided to have him present on how fast the Utah chapter has grown at a regional conference in Albuquerque, NM. Since Sheldon's trip was all paid for, we decided that I should go along for a little get away. Flights are pretty cheap to Albuquerque. It was a quick trip and pretty busy since Sheldon was busy the first two days we were there. His presentation went great and then we had lots of fun checking out Albuquerque afterwards. I didn't know what to expect from Albuquerque, but I actually thought it seemed like a nice place. We didn't do anything too crazy exciting. We checked out Old Town Albuquerque, which was only ok. San Diego's old town is much cooler. The best thing we did was take a tram ride on the world's second longest tram. They try to call it the longest tram even though it is really the world's second longest.

We were not prepared for how cold it was at the top of the mountain. It is actually ski resort and you can ski down the back side of the mountain. I had to take a picture of the thermometer just to prove that it was that cold in New Mexico!

Also unexpectedly, I decided to take a trip with my old roommates down to Tuscon to visit another one of my old roommates. It was so fun and I loved how sunny and warm and beautiful Tuscon was. We shopped til we dropped, ate lots of great food, soaked in the hot tub, and just had a great time reminiscing and feeling like college girls again. It has been about 4 years since we were last all together (except for Afton, and we missed you!) but I hope we can get together again sooner!

The awesome steaks we grilled for dinner one night. They were really good even though my food photography skills are lacking.

Halle's Birthday Party

We didn't throw a big party for Halle's birthday. Sheldon and I were actually gone on a trip the weekend of Halle's birthday, so we just made some cupcakes the following weekend. February has ended up being a crazy, busy month. Tucker was a big help making the cupcakes and licking the beater. Somehow, I think more of the batter ended up on his face than in his mouth.

Opening presents! Of course like most kids, half the fun is just ripping the wrapping paper. This is her favorite book right now. She loves finding the dog and pointing to her head after reading the page where the girl stands on her head.

Halle did a great job at eating her cupcake. She is not afraid of messes like Tucker was and it was probably my fault that Tuck didn't like messes. Since he was my first I fed him all the time, but Halle is really good at feeding herself.
