Tucker Turns Two!!

It's hard to believe my little Tucker is turning Two!! Two years ago today, Tucker was born at 8:49 pm weighing 6 lbs 12 oz and 20 inches long. In case you were wondering, he was also baby #2065 born at American Fork Hospital that year. Who knew kids could be so much fun (and also so challenging at times)! I love this little kid who can't get enough of cars, hates messes, and is a nonstop runner! Happy Birthday Tucker!

We taught Tucker how to say 'Happy Birthday to You' on Sunday. It's really cute, so here's the video.

Road trip to Cali!

Towards the end of June, Tucker and I had the chance to go down to California. My neighbor was driving down for a wedding, so we hitched a ride and then flew back so we could stay a few days longer. It was a lot of fun to relax in the perfect California weather and spend time with family. My parents just moved to a nice condo with a pool, hot tub, small exercise room, and it is right across the street from the farmer's market and park. And of course since it's California I got to go shopping!

I love my parents farmer's market! It is open every Saturday and Tuesday and I went on both days. How I wish Utah had a year round farmer's market! This is on our way to the market.
My parents had a big bucket of cars they kept from when we were kids and Tucker was in heaven being able to drive all his cars around.

Tucker also loved the big mirror in the bathroom (I tried to upload a video, but it didn't work) Maybe I'll try and post some video in the next post). Whenever we would undress him for his bath he would always dance around in front of the mirror naked.

On our way again to the farmer's market and park. I don't know why Tucker's making such a funny face.

This kid still loves running down any kind of hill!

More pictures of Tucker playing with his cars. He lined up all these cars all by himself, and then when he was finished he put them all back in the bucket and started lining them up again. So neat and organized!

Whenever Tucker sees the camera he has to come and look at the pictures I've taken.

yeehaw!

I think it was June 18 we went to the Strawberry Days Rodeo in Pleasant Grove. The strawberries 'n cream was amazing and the rodeo was actually really fun. I have only been to one other rodeo in my life, quite a few years ago, so I didn't really know what to expect but it was entertaining. We got there a little late so we missed most of the mutton busting, which is where little kids try to stay on sheep for as long as they can. Sheldon totally wants Tucker to try that someday, but I told him I don't think so. I guess none of them really get hurt, but most of them look pretty terrified. I don't want my son to be terrified of sheep for the rest of his life :)

It was really fun going with lots of my old roommates. Cami's holding Miriam's baby Hank, I think he was only a month and a half old here. His very first rodeo!

The funniest thing they did was a trick rider trying to get these buffalo to go on top of the trailer. It took a while because she was trying to get both on there at the same time. Who knew you could train buffalo?

Fishing, Hiking, and Potstickers

At the beginning of June there was a free fish day where you didn't have to worry about buying a license. We went fishing with Sheldon's parents at Strawberry Lake. No fish were caught, and it seemed like we didn't even get a nibble. Maybe it was because Tucker was throwing so many rocks and scaring the fish away.

Tucker and I had fun taking our inflatable canoe out. We were attached to a line so Sheldon could just pull us up and down along the shore.

For a family home evening in June we took a little hike up Dry Canyon in Lindon, it was a really pretty hike and I would like to go back since we didn't make it very far. Tucker refused to be carried in the backpack and his pace was extremely slow since every two feet he had to stop and throw rocks.

Since I was getting a little bored of cooking, I decided to have an Asian week. It was pretty fun to try lots of new recipes with different flavors. I made Ma Po Tofu, Tandoori Chicken, and homemade potstickers. They were quite of bit of work and I can totally see why people buy the frozen kind. They were tasty, but very time consuming. I only took a picture of the potstickers and my food photography could definitely use some work. I'm usually so hungry by the time I finish cooking all I want to do is eat!

Memorial Weekend at Mirror Lake

Yes, I am still playing catch up. I feel like we did so much this summer that I will be catching up for a while. Memorial Day weekend we went up with friends in our ward to a cabin by Mirror Lake. Surprisingly, there was still snow up there and it was a little chilly but we still had fun. We did some hiking, ate lots of great food, played some games, and just had fun hanging out. Unfortunately, Sheldon and I both got sick while we were up there so we came home a night early and even let the other couples go on a hike without us, but we still had a lot of fun.

We went on a hike the first morning we were there, Tucker and Avery of course always have lots of fun together.

Every boy needs a good walking stick!

This was the really pretty hike they went on without us and were nice enough to take Tucker so we could get some rest. So I don't have a lot of pictures.

Baby Sophie, she has always had tons of red hair that sticks straight up, it's my favorite!

There was no fire pit, so Emily and I carried some seriously heavy rocks to make our own. It turned out pretty good. These are our tough, manly faces.

Tucker of course got some TV time so he could relax. As usual he was completely glued to the screen.

Since we went over my birthday, Sheldon was pretty sneaky and packed dry ice so he could bring up an ice cream cake. Pure deliciousness! It was a big cake and between 8 people there was only one little slice leftover... yeah that shows how good it was. None of us had small pieces :)
