This is just a post with a bunch of different random pictures from January. Sometimes it's the pictures of everyday life that I love the most. I like remembering happy moments throughout the days that are similar and sometimes mundane.
Tucker loves to build with legos and whenever he builds something really cool he has me take a picture so we can try and get it in the lego magazine. One of these days they have to publish our picture! This was his triple-decker car.
Obviously we are a family that loves Legos! We have quite large collection of duplos and occasionally build something massive with them. The kids actually have the most fun when they get to knock down whatever we built.
We love Ikea! Except for when it takes us an hour for us to find what we are looking for and decide what we want, and then the kids are cranky and tired and I can't decide what to buy. Ugh. Ikea: it's a love/hate relationship. They do have decent food, but that store is big with too many choices for me.
Finn eating his morning cereal. He still calls milk "no," which results in many frustrating conversations.
In January I had a girls night with some of my old roommates. We ate delicious food, saw Into the Woods (not my favorite movie, very weird) and just had fun catching up. It was too short and I didn't get any pictures! While I was having fun with friends, Sheldon took the kids and went to visit his parents. They had fun riding scooters on a trail out by a marsh in Syracuse.
We spend a lot of time reading stories together. Finn and Halle love to read the same stories over and over again, so I end up with a lot of weird stories memorized. We recently discovered Mo Willems, who I know has been around for a while, but he is a funny writer. I love those pigeon books.

The one adventure we went on in January was to see Bodyworlds at The Leonardo. Tucker loved learning and we had some helpful anatomy students to answer questions for us. We walked in and Tucker asked, "How many bones are there in your body?" Another person at the exhibit promptly replied, "You start out with 270 at birth, but that decreases to 206 as an adult." My answer would just have been, probably a lot, so it was nice to have someone give him a more specific answer. After Bodyworlds we went up to the kids area of the museum and had a lot of fun playing around. The kids loved the pixel play area and we put every single one of those colored blocks on the wall. By the time we were done at the museum it was lunchtime. We were still feeling adventurous and tried a smaller restaurant that had curry friend chicken. They had no kids menu so we made our kids try all the regular food and they did pretty good trying new things! Pitas with hummus and spicy curry fried chicken. It was a reminder to me that we don't always have to eat at restaurants that the kids will love, sometimes it's good to try new things.

And to end our post, some funny selfies to put a smile on your face.
