Dreams really do come true!

Yesterday at my doctor appointment, my wish finally came true. I was told to eat a milkshake every single day! They were worried I wasn't gaining enough weight and so they finally said what I've been waiting to hear my whole life, "Eat more ice cream." So yesterday Sheldon and I had a big iceberg shake. I think I am going to become good friends with Ben and Jerry this week.

Funny Cat

This is a funny video of our cat Mickey. Sheldon walked in our living room one day and noticed a big bump on the couch. After poking it he realized it was our cat. Our cat loves to hide and play under the slipcover on our couch. I'm just worried we won't notice him one time and will accidentally end up sitting on him! Sorry there is no sound, but I just took the video with our digital camera and it sounded weird so I took the sound off. You're not missing much, mainly we were just laughing at how funny our cat is.

Olsen Family Reunion

July 21-26 Sheldon and I went to a reunion for my Dad's side of the family. We went to a place called Duck Creek, which is just a half hour away from Cedar City in the mountains. It was so much fun and the weather was perfect all week. It wasn't very hot, and I think normally I would have gotten colder, but I have noticed that being pregnant really changes your body temperature. I used to always be cold in church, but now I am roasting all the time. Anyway, it really wasn't too fun being 36 weeks prego, there wasn't a lot that I could do. Next time I will definitely plan my pregnancy better so as not to be pregnant during the reunion! It was still such a fun week though.

When we came to duck creek two years ago Sheldon and I both caught a lot of fish. It was the first time in my life that I was able to catch fish! I think I used up all my luck two years ago, because this year even though we went fishing almost every day, we caught nothing! It was still fun, but a little disappointing. Luckily, other people caught fish and were kind enough to share so we did get to eat some good trout. Sheldon and I bought an inflatable kayak this summer, and this is a picture of Sheldon fishing in the kayak.

Sheldon even went snorkeling in the freezing cold lake to try and scope out where all the fish were hiding (it wasn't a very deep lake and it was very clear), but it didn't help us any. I think next time we will be bringing a speargun, that's a more guaranteed way of catching fish.

Another thing we did while we were there was take a hike around Cedar Breaks. I had never been to Cedar Breaks before, but it was pretty cool. Lots of red rock and big cliffs.

You can kind of see in this picture some dark clouds. It had been raining and thundering just before we went on the hike. We almost didn't go on the hike, because you hike right along the cliff edge, a nice target for lightning. Luckily, it cleared up and no one got struck by lightning on the hike.

This is a yellow-bellied marmot we saw on the hike. I hiked after it for quite a while trying to get the perfect picture. I thought it was so cute and fuzzy!

Stewart Falls

On July 5th, Sheldon, my family, and I hiked up to Stewart Falls. It's a really beautiful hike and pretty easy, so it was great for me. This is me on the hike at 34 weeks pregnant.

Here is Sheldon:

And this is a picture of my sister and my cousin hiking.

We topped off the hike by going out to eat at one of our favorite places, Bajio's. On July 4th we went and watched a parade with Sheldon's brother and his wife. This is a picture of their little boy, Andrew, with Sheldon, and it is just so cute I have to post it. I don't have any pictures of the parade we watched, because I have more fun watching people at parades instead of the actual floats.

Recap of the past two months. . .

So of course it has been a very long time since I posted so I am going to try and get caught up before the baby comes. Yes, I am still carrying this little boy around in my stomach. I think he is very comfortable and I am expecting to deliver late so I won't be disappointed when my due date rolls around he still hasn't come. At my last two Doctor appointments I have had them check to see if I was dilated and it has been zero both times :( so disappointing. Even after hiking around a lot one week and even riding bumpy ATV's I was still zero! Well, Keep checking back the next few days for posts detailing what we have been up to this summer!

Soccer, Babies, and More...

So it has been forever since I posted! No surprise there really. Hopefully this blog won't become like my journal, where every entry is months apart and starts with the same sentence, "I'm really going to write in my journal regularly." Anyway, I will quickly summarize the events in the Mills family. Not too much has changed, our little baby boy is growing quickly, which means my stomach is also growing quickly. I only have about 3 more months to go, yippee! Sheldon and I are starting to accumulate baby things. My favorite purchase so far is this rocker:
Sorry the picture is sideways, I am too lazy to change it. It is the comfiest rocking chair and we got it for a great price. I sit in it all the time so the baby will love the rocking motion and then after he is born if he is fussy I can just sit in the chair and he will automatically calm down! What a great plan! We also have bought a cute onesie that says, "I wish I were naked." We are going to make Sheldon a matching shirt that says, "Me too." Sheldon cracks me up sometimes!

For Sheldon's birthday I bought him tickets to go see a Real Salt Lake Soccer game versus LA Galaxy. It was a very exciting game and of course it was fun to watch David Beckham play (he plays for galaxy). Here is a picture from the game:I don't like to be cold, in case you couldn't tell from the picture :) And of course I had to take a few pictures of Beckham :) If only I had better zoom on my camera. Here is a picture of me pregnant. I think it was taken about two or three weeks ago, so I am probably about 24 weeks along in the picture.Sorry it's a bad photo. At my work we measure how big around I am every week. I have been getting about an inch bigger every week! I'm hoping my growth plateaus or I will just turn into a big whale or I will be like the blueberry girl on willy wonka. Sheldon will just have to roll me everywhere we go.

Now you're completely updated on the Mills! We hope everyone is doing well!

It's a Boy!

Yes, our exciting news is we are having a baby boy. We went to the ultrasound on Wednesday and the doctor said everything looked good. My placenta was a lying a little low, so I have to go back in six weeks to make sure it moves up out of the way, but they said most of time it moves and is not a problem. This is a picture of the baby's profile.
This is a picture of our boy's arm and he is giving a thumb's up. Our baby is already so cool.
I felt our little boy (we don't have to call him baby anymore!) move for the first time this week. I was getting a little nervous, because everyone was saying I should have felt the baby by now. Then on Monday, I felt a little poke, like he was saying, "don't worry, I'm here!" We are so excited, but our now facing the challenge of picking out a name. So if anyone has any good ideas, please feel free to submit them. I went to Seattle last weekend with my old roommates and had a blast! I will post pictures from my trip later. Sheldon also celebrated his 26th birthday this week. He seems so much younger to me, although I guess 26 really isn't very old. To me, Sheldon is more the type of person that is forever five :)
